Manhasset Bay Cat, ch.g, 16.1h, 2003This guy is very kind and quiet. He is a good mover and very willing- Good bone and feet. Clean, sound, & no vices. Very people oriented. Update: Cat was adopted but returned two months later, apparently 'he was just too tall for his young adopter. The trainer reported he was going very well, and they never had a problem but the size was intimidating.' Unfortunately since he has come back he has been tripping under saddle, even at a walk on a smooth surface. We have had him evaluated by several vets- he exhibits neurological deficiencies but has tested negative for EPM and Lyme's so the consensus is that there was some sort of traumatic incident which caused this trouble. At this point, he is available as a companion only-- and we will continue to try to improve his condition with chiropractic and acupuncture. Link to old YouTube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgaxAN2J02o UPDATE 1/5/11: We put a saddle on Cat to lunge him, just to see where he is- and he is so much better! I actually hopped on him and rode him up and down the driveway for a few minutes and aside from being a bit weak through his back, he was great- so there is hope. As an aside, this is the first time he has done anything in 4 months and he was kick quiet as always. Update 2/6- Cat's adoption didnt work out, it just wasnt the right situation. He came back and we rode him lightly in the muck at a walk and trot and he was great- no tripping, hooray! Adoption fee $1- Saved thanks to the Friends of Twilight |
