Final Nickle, ch. g., 16.0h, 2002Saved from slaughter by the Friends of Twilight!Nickel was a personal favorite of Susan, one of the founding members of the Friends, back when she started helping on the backside at Philadelphia Park. She was a total novice around horses, and he was the one she was allowed to hot walk, bathe, and hand graze because he was so quiet. He got claimed and ended up at a cheaper track- she kept track of him, knowing all to well what happens when they hit the bottom. When he got smoked twice at the bottom claimers, she arranged to buy him and send him to MAHR. He is very quiet and sweet, nice to ride but needs someone to love and give him confidence if things get scary. We think he probably had some bad handling after he left Philly Park, and isnt always sure of new situations, but he has really started to trust us again and figure things out. He goes cross country alone nicely, and seems to really enjoy being with people. Loves peppermints! He is handsome, sound and ready for a new career. Headed to a new KY rescue- email us for contact information
